Alexport: Quality, availability, flexibility and good prices

Food safety

At Alexport, we attach considerable importance to the food safety of vegetables and fruit, as only by supplying safe products of high quality are we able to retain your trust and that of your customers.

Alexport complies with the most stringent requirements with regard to transportation, storage and packaging. Alexport has introduced a HACCP system and is BRC Grade A certified. As a result, we satisfy the stringent requirements of the British Retail Consortium.

A high degree of automation ensures that we are able to track and trace our vegetables and fruit. From early 2007 onwards, Alexport introduced an integrated warehouse management system incorporating barcode scanning. The purpose of this system is to ensure that we are able to provide comprehensive traceability of products, even within our own warehouses.

We also ensure that our suppliers in the Netherlands and abroad comply with food safety requirements. We require of all our growers that they comply with the EUREPGAP guidelines, in order to ensure that residues are reduced and that all products are traceable. Throughout the year, samples of our products are taken, in order to verify that the vegetables or fruit comply with the MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits).
